Community Impact
Turning Community Presence into Opportunity
Project R.E.D. Paint creates opportunities for connection, education, visibility, leadership, and shared action. This page documents completed community events, current collaborations, and upcoming opportunities so visitors can clearly understand what PRP has done and where our work is headed.
Community Milestones
PRP’s community presence has included a World AIDS Day expo and fashion event, the Splash Party, the Paint the Town RED relaunch, tattoo-party fundraisers in 2024, and a Community Resiliency Workshop held on September 17, 2024. These activities created welcoming spaces for HIV awareness, fundraising, conversation, wellness, community engagement, and connection. Together, they demonstrate PRP’s ability to bring people together around visibility, dignity, and shared purpose.
Conference Access and Leadership
In 2023 and 2025, Project R.E.D. Paint sponsored community members to attend the National Strength Conference for Men Living with HIV. The support reduced financial barriers to an affirming national learning space where participants could gain knowledge, build skills, exchange lived experience, connect with peers, and strengthen their leadership. This reflects PRP’s belief that access to information and community can help people become stronger advocates for themselves and others.
Community Voice in HIV Research and Public Health
Beginning in 2025, Project R.E.D. Paint joined the HIV-C Core Community Working Group through a partnership led by Emory University. The group contributes community guidance related to HIV Network Detection and Response activities supporting the Georgia Department of Public Health. PRP recruits community ambassadors to bring lived experience, community needs, and practical feedback into discussions about protocols, materials, and implementation. PRP participates alongside Lady BurgAndy, Latino LinQ, Community Estrella, researchers, and public-health partners within the broader CDC-supported context described by the organization.
Upcoming in 2026: Expanding Conference Access
Project R.E.D. Paint is offering five scholarship opportunities connected to the National Strength Conference for Men Living with HIV, scheduled for October 29 through November 1, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. The opportunity is designed to support access to conference registration, shared hotel lodging, conference meals, educational materials, seminars, breakout sessions, skill-building, mentorship, and peer connection. Availability and final award details should be confirmed directly with PRP at info@projectredpaint.org.
